What are the challenges of farming?

On the one hand, modern farmers face not only environmental challenges, but also economic ones. When thinking about the problems faced by farms, it seems that the universal challenge for all farms is how to adopt the changes needed to be competitive and, at the same time, maintain financial stability.

While the specific challenges vary by product, every year there is constant pressure to make all farms more efficient, do more with less and meet changing consumer demands, all while fighting diseases and weeds and managing weather conditions. As a farm manager, not only do you have to deal with the day-to-day challenges of running a business, but you also have to deal with the changing whims of Mother Nature.
